Coastal OHS Services Pty Ltd is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 91577) based on the Central Coast of NSW specializing in
Work Health and Safety training and consulting.
The business was founded in 2005 by Everardus (Erik) Gunzel who has over 20 years industry experience in safety management. Dr. Ute Steinel joined the business in 2014 as Director and brings with her over 20 years experience of medical practice.

Building on our extensive safety management and medical experience, we designed a 1 day Work Health and Safety course for Health and Safety Committees.

This increasingly popular course achieved international
Exemplar Global certification, aligned with ISO 29993:2017.

We run this course AUSTRALIA WIDE and are the only company in Australia who can offer this ISO 29993 aligned certified course.

We are a SafeWork NSW approved provider to deliver Health and Safety Representative (HSR) and White Card training in NSW.
We are a pre qualified provider to the NSW Government.

Our Team

Everardus Gunzel


During 1995 – 2005, he was the Safety Manager for Masterfoods of Australia in Wyong NSW where he designed their OHS Management System, managed and chaired the site Safety Committee, managed the WorkCover Self Insurer audits, designed and managed yearly safety plans & WHS training programs that included a unique safety psychology approach. Erik left this organization in 2005 and immediately founded Coastal OHS Services, specializing in Work Health and Safety training and consulting.

Dr. Ute Steinel


Dr. Ute Steinel joined the team in 2014 as Director. Ute has run her own medical practices in both Germany and Australia for over 20 years. Because of her extensive experience as a Medical Practitioner, she is well aware and has experienced first hand, the devastating effects poor safety can have on individuals, families and the community at large.

Lutz Steinel

Customer Services

Lutz joined the team in 2014 as IT and Customer Service Manager. He not only manages our software and hardware requirements but he is also the wizard who designs software programs to meet other business needs. Lutz engages with our customers and is committed to deliver the highest level of customer service.
