For Comcare participants, we can run this course face to face anywhere onsite in Australia, or if you have participants from different States or Territories, we can run this course live via Zoom or Teams.

HSR training can be delivered in a wide variety of training days such as: 1 day per week, 5 days straight, 2 and 3 days over 2 weeks etc.


If you have a group of participants we will work with you regarding what time schedule best suits your needs. The course must be completed within 6 months of commencement.

Health and Safety Representative - HSR -
Course Outline & Information

Day 1 – Interpreting the WHS legislative framework and its relationship to the HSR & Identifying key parties, legislative obligations and duties

This includes discussing the key parties within each organisation, their legislative obligations and health and safety duties.

Day 2 – Establishing representation in the workplace

How to set up the required representation in each workplace in accordance with the WHS Act 2011: Health & Safety Reps (HSRs), Health and Safety Committees (HSCs) and other arrangements.

Day 3 – Participating in consultation and issues resolution

We provide tools and skills to achieve effective communication and negotiation, issue resolution and contributing to the risk management process in the workplace.

Day 4 – Represent members in the WHS risk management process undertaken by the PCBU

Risk management and control include workplace inspections, notifiable incidents and incident investigation.

Day 5 – Issuing a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN) and directing the cessation of unsafe work

The 5th day training will provide an overview of PINs and directing the cessation of unsafe work.

Course Duration

The course runs over 5 Days. The course duration is 7 Hours each day. This applies for face-to-face, Zoom & Teams training.

Assessment

Course assessment is informal.

Course Award

A HSR training course certificate of attendance will be issued to all participants who complete the course.
